How Cutting-Edge LLMs Are Revolutionizing BI Dashboards
A Developer’s Journey
As a BI Developer at MVP Studio, I’m obsessed with how the latest large language models (LLMs) are transforming the way we visualize and interact with data. Working on our Property Investment and Management project, I’ve spent the past months diving into Australian real estate data—building Power BI dashboards, optimizing ETL pipelines with SSIS, and turning raw numbers into actionable insights for stakeholders. But I’m not stopping there: I’m exploring how LLMs can elevate these dashboards, and it’s thrilling me like nothing else in tech.
At MVP, I design data models using the Kimball methodology and star schema within Azure Fabric Lakehouse, crafting a robust data warehouse to support advanced analytics. I then build interactive Power BI dashboards that uncover property trends—like which suburbs are hot for investment. These visuals drive decisions, but LLMs could take them further. Imagine querying a dashboard with natural language: “Show me property trends in Sydney with the highest ROI.” LLMs could parse that query, pull data from SQL Server, and generate real-time, dynamic insights in Power BI—using natural language processing (NLP) to simplify interactions and predictive analytics to forecast market shifts based on historical data. They could even automate ETL processes, suggesting optimizations for SSIS pipelines or enriching reports with AI-driven context, making dashboards smarter and more intuitive for users.
My passion for LLMs comes from testing the most cutting-edge models—pushing boundaries to see how they can revolutionize business intelligence. Having hustled through tech internships in Mexico, e-commerce ventures in Brazil, and now BI work in Auckland, NZ, I’ve learned resilience and curiosity drive innovation. LLMs aren’t just tools; they’re storytellers, like the data I’ve always chased—whether analyzing property data or reselling books on Amazon. They’re my next frontier, and I’m eager to explore how they can enhance dashboards for real-world impact.
For recruiters seeking BI talent, LLMs aren’t a distant dream—they’re here, reshaping our field. As someone recognized for leadership and collaboration (including feedback like “Great BI Developer”), I’m ready to bring this vision to life—testing LLMs to drive smarter decisions and support teams. If you’re looking for a BI Developer to push innovation, let’s explore how these cutting-edge technologies can supercharge your dashboards.
